SFM adjusts service frequencies during the month of August and temporarily modifies platforms in six stations by Son Rullan works

The new schedules will be in force between 1 and 31 August and all circulations will be made via route 2 between Son Fuster and Polygon Marratxí

Serveis Ferroviaris de Mallorca (SFM) will adjust the frequencies of the railway service during the month of August and will apply a temporary change of platform in six stations of the network to continue to advance in the works of remodeling of the workshops of Son Rullan. The modifications, in force between 1 and 31 August, are necessary to reconcile the service with a key phase of the work, a strategic action that will allow to modernise the workshops of Son Rullan and prepare the railway network for its future growth.

As is usual every summer, working days will be applied a schedule adapted to the lower demand of travelers of this period, similar to that that that works the rest of the year during the weekends. In addition, some adjustments have been made to the departure hours and an end-of-service train between Palma and Inca is incorporated in both directions.

On Saturdays, Sundays and holidays the same number of circulations is maintained, although some departure times have been slightly modified from Palma. The services to Palma retain the current schedules.

Since 2024, SFM maintains the usual service throughout the month of July and concentrates this adaptation exclusively during August, coinciding with the time of the year in which there is a smaller influx of travelers.

Taking advantage of this period, SFM carries out the works that have the greatest impact on railway traffic. In this phase of the works it will be necessary to establish single-way traffic between the Son Fuster and Polygon stations of Marratxí.

As a result, during the whole month of August all trains will make the arrivals and departures from the on platform 2both in the Palma sense and in the direction of Inca, Sa Pobla and Manacor, at the following stations:

  • Son Fuster
  • Son Cladera / Es Vivir
  • Verge de Lluc
  • Pont de Inca
  • Pont de Inca Nou
  • Polygon Marratxí

To facilitate travel, SFM will strengthen user information through PA, station-specific signage, information panels and digital channels of the company.

The remodelling of Son Rullan workshops will allow the ability to maintain trains, increase the reliability of the service, strengthen the safety of operations and adapt these facilities to the growth experienced by the railway network in recent years.

The new timetables are available at: www.trensfm.com and www.tib.org.

SFM apologizes for the inconvenience these temporary changes may cause and thanks users for their understanding as they move forward with works that will contribute to providing a rail service with greater capacity, greater safety and greater reliability.
