SFM adapts the special train device for the Sineu Much due to the strategic works of Son Rullan
It will incorporate a special train at the request of the City of Sineu to strengthen safety in the return of attendees and promote the use of public transport
Serveis Ferroviaris de Mallorca (SFM) will adapt this Monday, August 10, the planned railway device on the occasion of Sineu's Much due to operational limitations resulting from the modernization works of Son Rullan's workshops.
Despite these circumstances, a special train will be incorporated at the request of the City of Sineu with the aim of strengthening safety in the return of attendees, promoting the use of public transport and helping to reduce the use of the private vehicle after the party.
The modernization of the Son Rullan workshops is a strategic action for the future of the railway network of Mallorca. The project will expand fleet maintenance capacity, improve service reliability and prepare the network for the increase of frequencies and the incorporation of new trains.
This action temporarily requires a single track between the Son Fuster stations and the Marratxí polygon in both directions, a limitation that conditions the circulation of the entire network and prevents the incorporation of more trains during this phase of the works.
In spite of this, SFM will enable a special train at the end of the day to strengthen the safety of attendees and make it easier for as many people as possible to return by train. The regular service will be maintained with a frequency of one train every hour both back and forth, and the last departures from Sineu will be at 18.44 h, 19.44 h, 20.44 h, 21.00 h (special train), 21.44 h and 22.44 h. In addition, services will be provided with higher capacity units to respond to the high expected demand in the return range.
SFM recommends that attendees, whenever possible, step back and use the first available trains to avoid concentrations in the last circulations of the day favoring a more comfortable and safe return.
